Pocket WiFi Turkey: Unlimited Internet for Your Whole Trip
A pocket WiFi in Turkey is a small, battery-powered router that turns the Turkish mobile network into your own private WiFi. You carry it in a bag or pocket, switch it on, and your phone, tablet and laptop connect to it like any other WiFi network. StayinWifi rents these devices to travellers across Turkey: unlimited 4G/5G data, up to 6 devices at once, and your own SIM stays in your phone. Comparing providers? Our six-point buyer's guide lists what to check.

What is pocket WiFi?
Pocket WiFi (also called portable WiFi, a mobile hotspot or a travel router) contains a SIM card of its own. It connects to a local mobile network and shares that connection over WiFi. With StayinWifi, the SIM is already built in, so there is nothing to buy, insert or activate.
- Turn the device on.
- Enter the WiFi password shown on its screen.
- Start browsing, on every device that has WiFi.
Because your phone only joins a WiFi network, it does not matter whether it is locked to your home carrier, whether it supports eSIM, or how old it is.
Why pocket WiFi suits a trip to Turkey
Most days in Turkey depend on a working connection: maps between neighbourhoods, ride and transfer apps, translation at a market stall, museum tickets on your phone and messages home. A pocket WiFi covers all of it with one device.
- One connection for everyone. Up to 6 phones, tablets or laptops share the same unlimited data, which is why families, couples and groups of friends often choose it.
- Your number stays active. Your own SIM remains in your phone for calls and SMS, so bank codes and messages still reach you.
- No roaming bill surprises. You use the Turkish network through the device instead of your home carrier's data roaming.
- No phone registration. A foreign phone used with a Turkish SIM card must be IMEI-registered after 120 days. A pocket WiFi does not touch your phone at all.
Coverage: where it works
StayinWifi devices use Turkcell's network and work all across Turkey, whether you are in a hotel, an Airbnb, on a beach or on the road. That makes one rental enough for an itinerary that moves from Istanbul to Cappadocia and the coast. The internet is unlimited under a fair usage policy, which means speeds may be reduced after excessive use. The devices work only inside Turkey, not in other countries.
Pocket WiFi, SIM card or eSIM?
All three can get you online in Turkey; they suit different travellers.
- Pocket WiFi is the easiest choice when several people or devices need internet, when a laptop is involved, or when your phone does not support eSIM.
- An eSIM can be a good fit for a solo traveller with a recent, unlocked phone who installs it before departure. Our eSIM Turkey guide compares both honestly.
- A local SIM card connects one phone, replaces your home number while it is inserted, and brings the IMEI rule into play on longer stays.

What comes with the device
Every rental includes the WiFi device, a power bank, a charging cable and an adapter. The battery lasts 8–10 hours on average, and the power bank keeps it going on long sightseeing days. For a closer look at the hardware and daily use, read about our portable WiFi device.
Price and booking
Pocket WiFi rental starts from €5.90 per day, with no hidden fees: every price is shown on the website before you pay, and payment is made by 3D Secure card. You can rent by the day, week or month, and longer rentals get a discount.
