TakeAWifi vs StayinWifi: Portable WiFi Turkey Checklist
Comparing portable WiFi in Turkey and weighing TakeAWifi against StayinWifi? The quickest way to decide is a checklist you can apply to every provider. Below are the criteria that matter for a trip to Turkey, the question to ask for each one, and StayinWifi's answer, taken from our own terms and FAQ. We do not state other companies' prices or features on this page: conditions change, so ask each provider the same questions and compare the answers side by side.
Contents
Data: what does "unlimited" mean?
Ask: Is the data really unlimited? Is there a fair usage policy, and what happens to the speed after heavy use? Which network does the device use?
StayinWifi: unlimited internet on the Turkcell and Türk Telekom 4G/5G networks. The service is built for everyday travel use by you and your companions: maps, messaging, email, video calls and social media. It is not meant to replace a home internet connection with constant high-volume downloads. If you plan heavy streaming or remote work, read our unlimited pocket WiFi guide.
Coverage: where does it work?
Ask: Does the device work across the whole country or only in some cities? Does it also work in other countries?
StayinWifi: the devices work all across Turkey, whether you are in a hotel, an Airbnb, on the beach or on the road. They work only inside Turkey, so if your trip continues to another country, plan a separate solution for that part.
The device and what is in the box
Ask: How many devices can connect at once? How long does the battery last? Which accessories are included? Do I need a SIM card?
- Up to 6 phones, tablets or laptops at the same time.
- 8–12 hours of battery on average.
- A power bank, a charging cable and an adapter in the box.
- An embedded SIM, so there is nothing to buy or insert.
- Works with any WiFi device; your own SIM and number stay active for calls and messages.
Setup takes seconds: switch the device on and enter the WiFi password shown on its screen.
Getting the device and giving it back
Ask: Where can I collect the device, and at what hours? Can I return it somewhere other than where I picked it up?
StayinWifi: 24/7 pick-up and return at Istanbul Airport (IST), Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) and Trabzon Airport; delivery to hotels, residences and Airbnbs; and shipping within Turkey when offered on the booking form. The return point can be different from the pick-up point, and the device can also be collected from an address. All options are on the pick-up and return locations page.
Rental length and flexibility
Ask: Can I rent for a few days as well as for a month? Is there a discount for longer stays? Can I extend if my plans change?
StayinWifi: rent daily, weekly or monthly, with discounts for long-term rentals. If your trip gets longer, you can extend the rental online.
Price, payment and fees
Ask: What is the total for my dates? Which payment methods are accepted? What do I pay if something is lost or not returned?
StayinWifi: rental starts from €5.90 per day. All prices are listed on the website before you pay, and there are no hidden fees. We accept credit and debit cards, and card payments are protected by 3D Secure. The device goes back with its power bank, cable and adapter; the fees for lost or unreturned items are published in our FAQ.
Support during your trip
Ask: How can I reach support, and does anyone answer at night and at weekends?
StayinWifi: support is available 24/7, weekends included, on WhatsApp, and also by live chat and email.

- Can I rent for exactly my dates, and extend if needed?
- Is the total price shown before I pay, and what are the loss fees?
- How do I reach support at night or at the weekend?
